Tanaya Patnaik is Executive Director of the Sambad Group and heads the radio, television and digital wings of the media house. She is an alumnus of the prestigious Warwick Business School in London. She is instrumental in giving conventional media, a new and enhanced digital look and heads three leading news web portals (www.sambad.in, www.kanaknews.com and www.sambadenglish.com ) in the state with an unparalleled social media presence. Tanaya Patnaik, who leads the print, radio, television, and digital divisions at Odisha’s leading media house, Sambad Group, is passionate about new media and has been a driving force behind the group’s digital expansion. As a proud Odia, she actively promotes Odia culture through Sambad’s platforms. In 2014, Tanaya introduced the ‘Street Store’ concept to India, a rent-free, pop-up clothing store for the underprivileged. She also spearheaded the ‘Sambad 100 Women Edit-a-thon,’ which focused on creating and editing Wikipedia entries for notable Odia women, and organized ‘UNZIP,’ an open mic event for women to celebrate International Women’s Day with innovative, women-centric activities. Her monologue series, ‘Pause with Tanaya Patnaik,’ addresses contemporary issues and highlights Odia tradition and culture. Additionally, she founded Choklate Productions, which produced the acclaimed historical play “Ahe Nilashaila.” This play has been staged in Bhubaneswar, New Delhi, Bengaluru, and Pilgrim Town Puri, coinciding with the inauguration of the Jagannath Temple Heritage Corridor project.
