
Satish Padmanabhan, Managing Editor, Outlook Magazine, has been a media professional for over 30 years, having worked in print, TV and digital. He started by reporting for Sunday magazine, Business World and The Economic Times in the 90s. As the television industry opened up after the economic reforms, he joined India Business Report on BBC, produced by TV-18. He then joined CNBC as a senior reporter. He had a stint as News Editor at NDTV, with the responsibility to oversee the channel’s prime time shows. He then joined Outlook Magazine as Features Editor and rose to be the magazine’s Managing Editor now. He is closely involved with the website Outlook India, giving the team editorial direction.
Satish Padmanabhan has taught journalism at Ashoka University, Indian Institute of Mass Communication and Times School of Journalism. He has been on the jury for the non-fiction prize of Kerala Literature Festival 2025, and is currently on the jury of the Crossword Book Awards.
