
Rohini Rana is an author, culinary historian, and expert on Nepal’s royal cuisine, best known for her books “The Rana Cookbook: Recipes from the Palaces of Nepal” and “The Nepal Cookbook: 108 Regional Recipes”. Born into the royal family of Awagarh, Uttar Pradesh, she later married General Gaurav S.J.B. Rana, former Chief of Army Staff of Nepal, in 1977. Her deep-rooted passion for preserving Nepal’s culinary heritage led her to document and share traditional recipes from Nepal’s palaces, offering insights into the lavish feasts and flavors of the past.
