Rakesh Naorem, a young writer & filmmaker from Manipur, has made significant contributions to the Manipuri film industry and literature. Born on March 6, 1985, in Tentha Khongbal, Thoubal District, Manipur, he is the youngest of five siblings. He was born to Naorem Chaoba Singh and the late Naorem Ongbi Borni Devi.
Rakesh Naorem’s artistic journey spans multiple domains. As a filmmaker, he has produced several notable Manipuri films. Yahouthengba Khoimu will be his first feature film debut as a director . Over the years, his works have garnered numerous national and international awards.
In addition to filmmaking, Rakesh Naorem is an accomplished writer. He has authored five books across diverse genres, including short stories, radio dramas, biographies, and travelogues. His literary prowess has been recognized through his participation in several prestigious literary festivals in India, sponsored by the Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi.
