Prabhat Ranjan is a Fiction writer, translator, and editor. He has written ‘Kothagoi’, his first book in Hindi on the history of the tawaif tradition. Has published two collections of short stories ‘Janaki Pul’ and ‘Bolero Class’. and has translated more than 30 books including Anne Frank’s Diary, Mohsin Hamd’s novel Moth Smoke, Khushwant Singh’s book ‘Khushwantnama’, The Autobiography of Dilip Kumar, Devi of devdutt Patnaik, Aandhari of Namita Gokhale, etc. He is the recipient of the Sahara Samay Katha Samman, Premchand Samman, ABP news best blogger award for the year 2014 for his blog ‘Janki Pul’, Krishna Baldev Vaid fellowship for his writing, 2013. Prabhat received his first ‘Dwarika Prasad Agrawal Bhaskar Yuva Puraskar’ of rupees one lakh for the book ‘Kothagoi’ during the Jaipur literature festival, in 2016. His book ‘Paltoo Bohemian’, a memoir of Manohar Shyam Joshi is a big success in 2019.
