Badri Narayan is an eminent Hindi poet. He is one of the important poets who emerged in the era of the nineties. He is also an expert in social history and cultural anthropology. Along with being an eminent poet of Hindi, he is known as a social scientist who continuously worked in the basic political understanding and constructs of Northern India. The poetic emotions and feelings along with the sociological vision provide a strong and sharp understanding of his social science research and poetry. Many times the sorrow of the poet Samman into the sorrow of the society. The use of folk images gives him a distinct place in the field of poetry.
Recently he has been awarded Sahitya Academy Award 2022 for Hindi for his poetry collection ‘Tumdi Ke Shabd’ .
Some of his famous collections of poems are- Pratinidhi Kavitaye, Tumdi Ke Shabd, Khudai Mein Himsa, Shabpadiyam, Sach Sune Kai Din. He has been honored with Bharat Bhushan Samman, Banarasi Prasad Bhojpuri Samman, Kedar Samman, Spandan Kirti Award, Rashtrakavi Dinkar Award, Shamsher Samman, Meera Smriti Samman. His poems have been translated into English, Bengali, Oriya, Malayalam, Urdu and many other Indian languages. His columns based on political analysis are regularly published in Hindi and English important newspapers and magazines Hindustan, Amar Ujala, Dainik Jagran, Indian Express, Hindu, India Today and Outlook.
