
Alka Saraogi is an Indian novelist and short story writer in the Hindi language. She holds a PhD degree from Calcutta University for her thesis on the poetry of Raghuvir Sahay. Saraogi published newspaper articles about health and women’s issues before beginning writing prose. She was awarded with the Sahitya Akademi Award for Hindi for her novel Kalikatha: Via Bypass in the year 2001 which was proposed to be translated into India’s official twenty-two official languages. Some of her noted works include: Shesh Kadambari (2002), Doosrī Kahānī (2000), Koi bāt nahīn (2004), Jankidas Tejpal Mansion (2015) and Ek break ke bād (2019). Her latest works include Kulbhushan ka Naam Darj Kijiye in 2020. She was awarded with the KLF Book Award 2020 for “Kulbhooshan Ka Naam Darj Kijiye”, Vani Prakashan.
