Akshaya Mukul is a writer and a journalist. He is the author of Gita Press and the Making of Hindu India (2015) which won all the non-fiction literary prizes like Tata Book of the Year prize, Ramnath Goenka Award, Crossword Prize, Shakti Bhatt first book prize and Atta Galatta prize.He is the recipient of New India Foundation, Homi Bhabha and Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Trust Fund fellowships. Mukul was a political journalist for over two decades and worked in the Times of India, Hindustan Times, Pioneer and the Asian Age.
