Bal Ram Adhikari, PhD in literary translation, is an Assistant Professor of English Education at Tribhuvan University, Nepal. An award-winning translator, Dr. Adhikari has more than a dozen translations and several translation articles published in national and international journals. Currently, he is the president of the Society of Translators Nepal. Apart from teaching, training, researching and translating, Dr. Adhikari loves writing poetry in English and essays in Nepali. He is the recipient of several prizes, including प्रज्ञा अनुवाद पुरस्कार, एनएलजी कलाश्री सिर्जना पुरस्कार, बेलायत प्रतिभा पुरस्कार, खेमलाल लामिछाने स्मृति पुरस्कार, भद्र कुमारी उषा ठाकुर बनिता पुरस्कार for his contribution to Nepali literature and Nepali-English literary translation. He has contributed to the SAARC Cultural Center Colombo in his capacity as country editor of poetry (2012–2013), Journal of NELTA as editor (2015–2016), Nepalese Translation as chief editor (2018–2019) and Dictionary of Translators in Nepal (2020) as editor.
