
Sanju Thapa Magar is the Chief Executive Officer of Ageing Nepal with over a decade of experience in ageing research, advocacy, and project management. She holds a Master’s degree in Sociology and a Bachelor’s in Social Work. Since 2014, she has been leading Ageing Nepal, focusing on policy analysis, grassroots advocacy, and institutional strengthening for older persons. Sanju has also worked as a consultant with HelpAge International, Green Tara Nepal, and Nossal Institute. She has represented Nepal in numerous international conferences, including Japan (2025), Indonesia (2024), Bangkok (2024), and Rwanda (2023). Re-elected in 2023, she serves as a Steering Group member of the Global Alliance for the Rights of Older Persons (GAROP). She is also a published author on ageing and dementia care.
