Prof. Dr. Devi Nepal (born 18 Baisakh 2030 B.S. in Haldibari, Jhapa) is a prominent Nepali poet, critic, academic, and educator. With a Ph.D. in Dialectics in Progressive Nepali Narrative Poetry, she has served as Professor of Nepali at Valmiki Campus, Kathmandu, and as Head of the Literature Department (Children’s Literature & Folklore) at the Nepal Academy. Author of over 30 literary works—ranging from poetry, criticism, and children’s literature to textbooks—she has also written and edited hundreds of books and contributed to Nepal’s national curriculum. Honored with more than 60 awards, she is recognized as a leading figure in the revival and promotion of Nepali chhanda poetry, delivering creative writing and language training across Nepal and abroad.
