Bhupal Rai is a poet, lyricist, writer, and editor who currently serves as the chancellor of Nepal Academy. Rai has committed to advocacy work for the Kirati people’s rights through his writing. His work combines Marxist philosophy and the socio-cultural pragmatism of the indigenous Kirati.
