
Dr. Rinzin Rinzin is a decorated Bhutanese author, poet, scholar, and civil activist. He worked as a member of Parliament, lecturer, agriculture researcher, bureaucrat, management consultant, and writer during the last 28 years.
His début book was ‘The Talisman of Good Fortune and Other Stories from Rural Bhutan’ (2002). He also authored a novel (‘Depa Bondeypa’s Relatives’ in 2016), a collection of his own poems (‘Dewdrops in the Sun’ in 2018), and five illustrated children’s books. His latest book is ‘Haiku’ng in the Dragon Kingdom’, the first book of Haiku by a Bhutanese. His poems have been widely published in over 80 international anthologies, journals and magazines. He also authored/co-authored over two scores of technical papers, training and extension materials in agriculture science as well as a number of academic modules for education institutions.
Currently, he serves as the Executive Director of Bhutan Transparency Initiative (BTI), a civil society organization (CSO) committed to promoting transparency, accountability, and integrity, and combating corruption in Bhutan. He is also the Chief Country Coordinator (Bhutan) for the Foundation of SAARC Writers and Literature (FOSWAL), Chairperson of Bhutan Country Coordinating Mechanism for Global Fund, and holds numerous other honorary posts.
